VooPoo DRAG X Pod Mod Video Review
The leather section makes the device look like it belongs to the Aegis range, especially the Geekvape Aegis pod kit.
The buttons on the mod are quite typical for VooPoo, there is a fire, up, and buttons, all of which are round, and the fire button is slightly indented to accommodate the thumb or finger comfortably.
Between the buttons is the 0.96″ TFT screen, and below the buttons sits the USB-C Port.
A small handle to alter the airflow sits on the back of the device. The airflow is formed by two slits on either side of the mod.
The shape and size look great, but more importantly, it fits the hand nicely too.
Flat at the front and round at the back, it looks like it may only fit comfortably in the hand one way. However, it’s quite comfortable regardless of the way you hold it.
It looks elegant and stylish, in a unique way that it will suit almost anybody, irrespective of age. If you are 18 or 88, you will agree that this device has a very classy and trendy sense.
In regards to durability, I have no concerns. The bottom of the device has rubber feet to keep it from touching down. The leather back, which I presume is stuck on, sits nicely and feels well made.
The device, in general, feels quite strong and studied.
If I had any concerns about the device’s durability, it would be for the fire button. Purely because the great and durable DRAG mods have been known to have a faulty fire button after years (sometimes months) of constant use, they wear out internally.
However, this DRAG X is more compact, and I feel confident that the button will stand the test of time for most users.
The battery port, quite typically, opens from the bottom. The door has a latch on either side; the latches are pretty standard size, if not a little bit bigger.
I usually steer away from this type of battery door system on dual battery mods. The battery ports are spring-loaded, and with two batteries, the door slowly bends over time and loses connection.
However, this is only a single 18650, and I’m pretty content that it will be durable enough.
VooPoo DRAG X – the Pod
As stated above, the pod is made from Plastic. It’s evident that VooPoo has tried to give the pod a tank design, and I think it’s worked. The pod plays a major part in the system looking awesome – it’s clear, as with most pods. However, it is clear all over, and it’s more of a grey colour than the clear white we are used to seeing with pods. Although the pod is pretty cool – in how it looks and feels – VooPoo hasn’t done anything majorly different. They’ve just shaped it to look like a tank, and I think it has worked – it looks and feels awesome. VooPoo’s website states they are bringing out a 510 connection adapter or the system, this isn’t a new idea among Pod Mods, but it would certainly be interesting to check out.
