The Vaporesso XROS pod kit review and yet another new release from this prolific vape company! A couple of things come to mind when I think of Vaporesso.
Vaporesso Xros 16w Pod System
Vaporesso XROS 16W Pod System, featuring an 800mAh integrated battery, mesh coil heating structure, and adjustable airflow control system. Constructed from durable zinc-alloy, the XROS Pod System delivers delicious clouds of vapor with its mesh coil pods, holding up to 2mL of e-Juice or nicotine salts. Offering a 0.8ohm or 1.2ohm mesh coil, the Vaporesso XROS is top filled, removing the ergonomic mouthpiece to reveal fill ports for a convenient fill system. An adjustable airflow control switches on the back of the Vaporesso XROS Pod System, allowing or restricting airflow with a simple click.

What Can We Expect From The Vaporesso XROS?
The XROS is an 800mAH device with USB Type-C charging capabilities; the two pods that come in the kit are both Mesh, a 0.8Ω and a 1.2Ω which seems to be the way things are going in the high resistance realm. Mesh performs very well in my experience, even at these high resistances. The XROS doesn’t have many bells and whistles to shout about; it’s designed to be portable and simple with the option of both an automatic draw and a fire button with a nice bright LED indicator below the button. And yes, yes, yes! Adjustable airflow thanks to a neat little slider on the back. BTW I had a quick look at what XROS could mean…maybe it’s from the anime series Digimon Xros Wars? So let’s crack on with the review and see what this kit is all about. This kit was sent to me free of charge for review. All views and opinions are solely those of my own and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of others.
Design and Build Quality
I can’t be sure exactly what the device is made from, perhaps a Zinc Alloy or Aluminium. Still, Vaporesso claims it has a durable SUS304 Stainless Steel Coating, which is durable and corrosion-resistant. It has a nice finish and feel; it feels good quality. The fire button has a nice click to it, and the LED indicator is very bright and will change color from Green/Blue/Red depending on your battery level, which will also glow red while charging and finish green when fully charged. Minor gripe, the indicator is situated below the fire button, so when you fire it, you cant see it.
Vaporesso XROS Pods
Included in the kit are two pods which both house a non-removable coil. They both hold 2ml of e-liquid and have a removable mouthpiece that exposes your small filling port once removed. The two pods have very clear markings on the base to describe what coil is enclosed, along with nice magnets to clip the Pod into the device; another nice touch is the different colors of the internal seals to differentiate between the two pods. The Red Pod being the 0.8Ω Pod, and the Black one being the 1.2Ω Pod – nice touch.
The 0.8Ω XROS Mesh Pod
As an MTL vape, with the airflow open, the XROS 0.8Ω Pod delivers a loose draw with a nice cloud, and the flavor is good – not great. The added airflow restriction is noticeable, and the flavor does improve slightly, with the same amount of vapor being produced. Limiting the airflow to nothing (airflow slider pretty much shut), the XROS nails that tight MTL draws very well, and because of the mouthpiece shape, it is doing a very good job.
The 1.2Ω XROS Mesh Pod
I could break down all three experiences, just as I have with the 0.8Ω Pod; however, there isn’t any point as the 1.2Ω XROS Mesh Pod performs pretty much the same. Odd right? I would assume because of the smaller coil size, the restriction would be more so, even when the airflow slider is all the way open, but actually, it’s the same.
Vaporesso XROS Battery Life
Whether I used the 0.8Ω or the 1.2Ω Pod, I got a day’s life out of the XROS with no problem. With the 1.2Ω Mesh Pod, on many occasions, I got into day THREE before recharge, and with charging, it takes less than an hour, thanks to the 2A USB Type-C port. It’s just a waste! The device wouldn’t have to be that much bigger to house removable/replaceable coils.
